Airport Body Scans Reveal All

Ok, so you're an outlaw trying to get to Japan before the cops get to you. You have a gun ready for action in your pocket, and its made out of the hottest new material by a secret organization. Every criminal has it. The gun camofloges to your skin, and feels like it too! Your worry-free; you've done this many times before. You expect some cop to come and check you, but they're all to absorbed into playing with a machine. Out of the blue, sirens blare, people scream, and you try to escape. You're not quick enough. The cops have a firm hold of your arms, legs, neck, and about everything else you own. You have no clue how they did it. This might give you a clue.

The U.S. Transportation Security Agency has whole body imaging units in six airports. These reveal anything under your clothes, including metal or even plastic explosives. Just keep this in mind next time you go to an airport. The officer veiwing the images is far away from you, and cannot identify who is it that is being scanned. The system also deletes scanned images for the sake of privacy.

The Future of Evolution: What Will We Become?

You've probobly heard of how humans used to be, and how they haved changed. Well, You've also probobly NOT heard or thought of how we will appear or think in the future. Scientists are pondering that question. Also, you may have seen a cartoon showing creatures that are slightly different from humans. Scientists choose against that, because it would cause women to die during child birth. So, what we will develope into is a mystery, but we surly develope, due to changes in nature such as global warming and air polution.

Extra Credit

"In Science the credit goes to the man who convinces the world, not to the man to whom the idea first occurred."

This quote means to me that to get credit for a scientific achievement,
you must use that idea to create something, whether it is an invention,
or something not as solid like a formula. But, if you don't, and someone
else does, you don't get any credit.

Is too much sleep making you tired?

http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/10/30/oversleeping.health.effects/index.html

Have you ever felt groggy and slow like a turtle after sleeping? Well, believe it or not, it could be
fore two reasons. The obvious one is that you did not get enough sleep. That would mean five hours
or less. The one that most people is okay is oversleeping. There has been two studies showing that
there are severe and minor consequences to habitually oversleeping and under sleeping both:
  • increased mortality(less life)
  • sleep drunkenness
So if you're sleeping too much or too less every day, be prepared for a short life.

Researchers Create Artificial Memories in the Brain of a Fruitfly

Biologists want to learn more about the fly, so they wrote memories into the cells of a fruit fly's brain. It was written by a shinning light of the fly's brain. The goal was to learn how learning in general works. Also, to They used a fly because it's genes can be easily manipulated easily. With the help of licorice and tennis shoes odors, the team is now able to understand more about the fly's learning system. But, when they go to a fly expert, thay learn that there are still many missing parts to the puzzle. Even though they only discovered a little, I think it was really cool how thy wrote memory into the fly, like onto a computer!
